1. Directly related work experience
Use paid work experience in the same NOC as your B.C. job offer, or a directly related occupation that meets the program rules. Experience must be from the last 10 years; part-time work is credited at 50%.
2. Highest level of education
Select your highest completed credential. The program must have taken more than six months. Canadian distance-education credentials are not eligible for education points. Only the highest credential indicated in the registration may receive the Canadian education bonus.
Do not select a Canadian location for a distance-education or language-training program.
The job offered and the credential must match the eligible occupation/designation in the current program guide. A designation is counted only if “Yes” is selected above.
3. Language proficiency
Enter the lowest CLB/NCLC-equivalent level across listening, speaking, reading and writing for each valid test. Base language points are calculated using the higher score from your eligible English or French test. An additional 10 points are available only when both valid tests are within two years and each test has CLB/NCLC 4 or higher in all four competencies.
Language points: CLB/NCLC 9+ = 30; 8 = 25; 7 = 20; 6 = 15; 5 = 10; 4 = 5; below 4/no valid test = 0. Both-language bonus: +10, subject to program requirements and proof at application.
4. Current location (optional)
These location details do not directly add points. Select your B.C. job-offer work area in Section 6 below to calculate area points.
5. Hourly wage of your B.C. job offer
Choose the hourly rate in your job offer. Only the regular hourly rate counts; bonuses, commissions, tips, overtime, housing and similar payments are excluded.
0 points
6. Area of employment within B.C.
Use the main physical work location in the job offer. Area 1 includes the Metro Vancouver Regional District; Area 2 includes Squamish, Abbotsford, Agassiz, Mission and Chilliwack; Area 3 includes other areas of B.C.
Regional bonus points are only available when the B.C. job-offer work location is in Area 2 or Area 3. If you qualify for both regional experience and regional alumni, only one 10-point bonus is counted.
