Canadian Experience Class (CEC) with NewSteps Immigration

At NewSteps Immigration, we specialize in assisting clients who have Canadian work experience and are seeking permanent residence through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program. Recognized as one of the fastest pathways to Canadian permanent residence, the CEC program can process applications in as little as three to four months!

Overview of the Canadian Experience Class Program

The Canadian Experience Class is a stream within Canada’s Express Entry system, designed specifically for temporary foreign workers and international graduates who have obtained skilled work experience in Canada. This program facilitates a smooth transition from temporary to permanent resident status, leveraging your Canadian work experience to enhance your application.

Eligibility for the Canadian Experience Class Program

To qualify for the CEC, applicants must have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equivalent in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years. It is crucial that this experience is in one of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER categories: TEER 0, TEER 1, TEER 2, or TEER 3.

Key Requirements of the Canadian Experience Class

Work Experience: Must be legal, paid work obtained in Canada within the 36 months prior to application. It cannot be accrued during full-time studies.

Language Proficiency: A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs and CLB 5 for NOC B jobs is required.

Residence: Applicants must plan to reside outside the province of Quebec.

Calculating Your CRS Points for CEC

Applicants are ranked in the Express Entry pool using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). NewSteps Immigration provides a free CRS calculator tool on our website to help you estimate your points based on your individual circumstances.

Applying from Outside Canada

Yes, you can apply to the CEC program from any location worldwide, provided you meet the eligibility requirements. The CEC does not require proof of funds, making it accessible for many candidates.

Internship Experience

Paid internships that are not part of your educational curriculum may count towards your CEC work experience requirement, provided they fall under the eligible NOC categories.

Explore Other Immigration Streams

If the CEC program isn’t the right fit, or if you lack Canadian work experience, NewSteps Immigration can guide you through other pathways within the Express Entry system, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program. These options cater to a broad range of skilled professionals and tradespeople.
