Cornerstone International Community College of Canada has received a temporary suspension of its designation certificate from B.C.’s Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit.
The suspension is effective from August 14 to September 14, 2026, and applies to Cornerstone’s listed locations in Vancouver and Surrey.
According to the enforcement notice, the suspension relates to the college’s work experience activities and whether they were directly connected to the learning objectives of its programs, as required under section 41(6)(b) of the Private Training Regulation.
Are Current Students Affected?
Students who were already enrolled at Cornerstone before the suspension may continue their studies. The temporary suspension does not require current students to stop attending classes or leave the college.
Current students should continue attending classes, maintain their academic records and follow any official instructions provided by the college.
What Does the Temporary Suspension Mean?
During the suspension period, Cornerstone cannot advertise, enter into new student enrolment contracts or enrol new students at the affected locations.
This is a temporary regulatory action and does not mean that the college has permanently closed. The suspension currently has an end date of September 14, 2026. Students can check the latest status through the official Private Training Institution Directory.
Prospective students should verify that the suspension has been lifted before signing a new enrolment contract or paying tuition.
